The Career Changers

Guiding Women Towards Financial Freedom

Alison Hall Season 5 Episode 10

In this episode, we are meeting Alison Hall, life and business coach, public accountant, tax planner, and certified divorce planning professional.

Alison reinvented herself to become her own happy boss after 25 years of building a conventionally successful corporate career. She started several lucrative businesses, and for the past 10 years, she has been using her knowledge of finances and in-depth understanding of human behavior to guide women in making wise financial decisions regarding divorce and other significant life-changing events, such as starting their own businesses. Alison taps into her own experience as a burned-out corporate grinder turned successful business owner to inspire women to embrace life-affirming change. As she likes to say "It's never too late to reach for a dream and grab it. If you only have one life to live, you'd better get cracking."

Find inspiration in three quotes:

  • Economics is at the centre of everything. We can't move to the next level of Maslow's pyramid of needs if our basic needs are not met. This is why it's the foundation for everything else.
  • Today I remind myself of the importance of being in the moment. My mum has Alzheimer and I visit 4-5 times a week. There are many other things I could do during that time. But I have learned to enjoy the present moment, like when I bring some candies to other old ladies and they are so happy.
  •  I am a big advocate of writing things down. Take some time to write what you want to do in the next five or ten years. Confusion often comes when other people's voices come into our heads when we find out that we have more SHOULDS than WANTS.
